I know what it’s like. I have felt inferior my whole life. I have always felt like a screw up who will never amount to anything.
But I’ve learned something this year. You cannot live your life in doubt. Yes, life is scary. Yes, you don’t know the future. Yes, being on your own is hard. But you have to press on and not give a rip about what anyone thinks. People will say that you can’t make it. People will say that you’re wasting your time. People will say that you should give up. People will say that you should die.
WHY DO WE CARE.
Why do we let words tear us apart? They don’t know the future. No one does.
WHY DO WE LET THEM TEAR US DOWN.
Prove them wrong. Show the world how strong you are. You have the choice to be able to inspire people in a few years. You’re choosing to write your story right now. Will you be telling people about how you were brought down by the discouragement of mere human beings? Or will you be telling people that you pressed on despite what anyone said and you proved the whole world wrong? It’s your choice.
You have to decide right now. You have the power to do that. Who cares about what they say. Press on. A soldier who stands still is a target to kill. Press on. In this place, you’re just as good as dead.
So start moving. Don’t be like me. Don’t have the regret for wishing you fought with everything you had. Don’t lay down and die. Don’t be like me. Instead, be proud knowing that you couldn’t hit the world any harder. Be proud knowing you proved everyone wrong. Be proud to know that you gave your very best. Be proud to know that you were unstoppable.
— James 4:7

You can never fill these shoes because I refuse to lose.
I’m prepared to let this go, to let everybody know.
I’m just ordinary me.
Ordinary - Thousand Foot Krutch
There is a lingering myth that our lives are meant to be lived the way we want. There is a never-fading deception that the things that we want will make us happy.
But this is not true.
Our lives weren’t meant to be lived our way! God has made us for glory! He meant us for the way He wants!
Most of you will probably say. “Golly G, Sam, God sounds awfully controlling.”
Let’s actually take a second and think about how the God of the universe wants you to live.
He wants you to be slow to anger. He wants you to love the unlovable. He wants you to save the dying. Heal the sick. Comfort the broken. Carry the fallen. Dry the tears. Make the smiles.
And we have the nerve to say no? Well no wonder we are evil. We don’t want to help the world that is full of bitterness, hatred, pain, sadness, sorrow, and confusion. We want to do our own thing. We want to help US and not THEM.
The deception in this is that we think helping ourselves will make us happy. Selfishness brings nothing but graves. It doesn’t save anybody. If you live for yourself, you don’t care about anyone else. You don’t care about the broken, hurting, lost, scared, unappreciated, overwhelmed faces that you see every single day of your life. You don’t care.
The heart-breaking part?
This is all of us.
Our flesh screams this over and over again, every day of our lives. We listen to it every day.
I say we put an end to this.
For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. - Romans 8:13
Let’s put an end to this. Let’s go and heal the sick! Encourage the hopeless! Love the hate-filled!
I will always have the choice to live a dishonorable, inglorious, selfish life…
But I would rather die.
