One of the many problems with pride.

Pride causes people to refuse to learn.

Often times, when someone is confronted with an opposing opinion, he or she will refuse to listen and instead say that they will continue to voice their opinion no matter what.

From just a quick observation, pride can be confused as the quality of boldness.

However, careful observation will show that being humble is the key to learning. When someone is prideful, the automatic thought is “I am in the right.” On the other hand, humility always says “I have much to learn.”

So I have a question for you.

Think about past situations where you thought you were right and someone else was wrong. Did you think you were right because you looked at other perspectives, but found yours to be the truth? Or did you just have pride?

The waters may rise, but Your hand carries me.
